Washington Beef, LLC Recalls Ground Beef Products due to Possible Foreign Matter Contamination

EDITORS NOTE: - This release is being updated to include additional information and a corrected product information list. WASHINGTON, March 2, 2019 Washington Beef, LLC, a Toppenish, Wash. S. Department of Agricultures Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The ground beef chubs were produced on Dec. 27, 2018 and include a Use or Freeze by date of 01/20/19.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number EST. 235 inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped nationwide. The problem was discovered by a consumer complaint to the company on February 28, 2019.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider. FSIS is concerned that some product may be frozen and in consumers freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
